This service will provide accommodation and support for adults and young people with learning disabilities and complex physical and mental health needs. The work will involve supporting people to develop as fulfilling a life style as possible, explore their future opportunities and help them achieve their goals in life.
Whether you are supporting someone to access the community or whilst they are in the home, you will provide the support they need to be a valued member of the community as well as ensuring their personal and health and social care needs are met in a professional and sensitive manner.
We are looking for a highly motivated and flexible Service Manager who will be responsible for the day to day running of care and support in a manner that puts the people we support at the centre of their care and promotes rights, dignity, choice and diversity.

You will ensure that the service meets all organisational and statutory requirements in compliance with Care Quality Commission Guidelines and policies and procedures.
You will have the right values, attitudes, skills, training and experience for this role. You will have a proven track record of strong and supportive leadership. You will have up to date and relevant knowledge to deliver the best quality of life and positive outcomes for all our customers and colleagues. A proven track record with the CQC is also essential along with experience of working with people with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate solid experience of managing a challenging Service, it is essential that the applicants holds at leat QCF Level 3 Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications. It is desireable that the applicant holds a QCF Level 5 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualifications, e.g. both NVQ Level 4 in Health and Social Care and Leadership and Management in Care Services (LMCS).
As Deputy Care Home Manager (Learning Disabilities) you will be responsible for :
The day-to-day running of the serviceManaging the effective use of resources and maintain high levels of occupancyComplying with all regulatory and legislative requirements at all timesHave a strong background of working with adults with learning disabilities and with a mental health backgroundensuring care support plans and health action plans are regularly reviewed and that care support plans are implementedensuring the health and wellbeing of people we support, in line with CQCensuring complaints are dealt with in line with the company’s policiesensuring that risk assessments and emergency plans are in place, all support plans are implemented and reviewed, working practices are safe and that staff members are adequately trained

experience of management in a mental health social care environmenta proven care and managerial track record within a registered residential settinghave previous experience of managing supported livingexperience of managing the housekeeping budgetbe an excellent communicatorthe ability and experience to lead, motivate, support and develop a staff teamensure staff members are supervised and performance managed and that appraisals take place in line with the company’s policiesexperience of managing a team, setting objectives and ensuring goals are metbe focussed on the needs of internal and external customersexperience of managing and implementing person centred plansthe ability to contribute at both strategic and operational levelsbe willing to learn and to undertake management development trainingknowledge of relevant legislation and CQC registration requirementsa commitment to make a positive differenceexperience of using Makaton is desirable
